Professional Tube Testing

Testing that goes beyond “good” or “bad.”

Measurements are selected to suit the tube type and intended use, with clear results for collectors, audiophiles, musicians, repair professionals and sellers.

Why testing matters

A simple emission result does not tell the entire story. Depending on the tube, meaningful evaluation may include shorts, leakage, gas, plate current, mutual conductance, balance between sections and comparison with expected operating values.

Test equipment

Our equipment includes the Amplitrex AT-1000, a calibrated TV-7A/U, Hickok 539-series equipment, MAXIPREAMP II, Sencore MU150, B&K 747B and other testers and fixtures. No single tester is best for every tube, which is why the equipment and method are selected for the job.

Common applications

Pre-sale verification, amplifier troubleshooting, matching output tubes, checking vintage inventory, evaluating inherited tubes and documenting desirable audio or transmitting tubes.

Please contact us before shipping tubes. We will confirm that the tube types are supported, discuss pricing and provide packing and mailing instructions.
